Edmonton meet Mark McNeill. Mark meet Edmonton. Oh wait, you have already meet? What's that? Your actually from Edmonton? Thats quite the conincidence. Did you happen to know that Edmonton is currently looking for a big, gritty, right handed center? Furthermore did you happen to know that YOU are in fact all of those things? I think I might be onto something.

I've been talking about this guy for a while now so it only makes sense to do a quick writeup on him. Anyways, at 6'2" and over 210lbs I wouldn't be surprised to see Mark McNeill in the NHL as early as next year. Not only has this kid taken his offseason workouts seriously, he is also the second leading point producer on a very weak Prince Albert team. Thats quite an accomplishment for the kid. Not only does he put up points, but he does all the little things well. He stands up for teammates, drops the gloves, and never gives up on a play. McNeill has a hard shot to go with his soft hands- something that when you add to his size will make him a surefire first round pick on draft day. He is quick for a bigger player but could still use some work on his agility to be successful at the NHL level.

I can see Edmonton fans chanting "McNeill" much like they chanted "Doan" in the past. Lets bring the hometown kid back to Edmonton. He would be a perfect fit for this team going forward. Perhaps the only problem that Edmonton would face is that both he and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins will have to fight over who gets to wear number nine if both are drafted by the Oil.
