2011 Draft Prospect: Stefan Noesen

Statistics (2010-2011): Plymouth Whalers (OHL): 61GP 32G 41A 73P +17 70PIM, 6'1" 195lbs

In 60 games played this year, Stefan Noesen has already put up 32 goals, 41 assists and 73 points. Not only does the hard working right winger lead the Plymouth Whalers in points, but he also leads all forwards with a +16 rating. Yet, somehow Noesen (pronounced NAY-sen) has gone unnoticed. Although his offensive production doesn't come close to rivaling former Plymouth Whaler Tyler Seguin, it is impressive enough to warrant a first round selection.

Noesen possesses much more then just his numbers indicate. He has really committed himself to his offseason workouts and has become a leader in the dressing room. He might not have the same presence in the room that fellow 2011 draftee Mark McNeill possesses, but he has been a leader for any team that he has played for. He is able to contribute to his team in all facets of the including penalty killing and scoring on the powerplay.

Although Noesen is a huge dallas stars fan, I could see him quickly becoming a fan of the Edmonton Oilers if he lasts until the second round of the draft. Although Edmonton doesn't have a huge need on the RW, it wouldn't hurt to add a gem like Noesen to the system. Their isn't much to not like about the kid. He has some size a 6'1" and isn't small at 193lbs. He is a very versatile forward that brings you the speed you want to see at the NHL level. Not only is he deceptively fast but he works well down low and has the vision to see the open man.
