Movie Recommendation: Confessions of A Danagerous Mind

For a movie that stars Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Drew Barrymore, George Clooney, Sam Rockwell, Julia Roberts, Michael Cera, Chuck Barris, and Dick Clark you would think it would have garnered more attention. Sometimes you get those movies where actors force themselves to have too big of a part rather than just playing in the designated role, this isn't the case with "Confessions of a dangerous mind". Every actor plays their part perfectly and it goes well with an awesome screenplay adapated by none other then Charlie Kaufman.

The story itself is hilarious. It originally start off as a book written by Chuck Barris. Barris, as you may or may not know was the TV produced for shows such as "the dating game", "newlywed game" and "the gong show" amongst others. What makes it interesting is that he writes this "biography" of his life yet begins to insert a very unlikely and hilarious ulterior plot. Essentially, when Chuck Barris is not prepping for his gameshows, he is off working as a CIA agent killing communist threats in foreign companies. In fact, the tripes and vacations that contestants won were actually destinations that Chuck had to visit to take part in an assassination.

Anyways this movie has an allstar cast and is a hilarious peice to watch whenever you get the chance. It's not as good as Kaufman's other works like "Adapation", "Being John Malkovich" or "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" but its very unique and worth watching. Sam Rockwell is still one of my favourite actors and this movie really shows it.

Here is a quick peak:
